Membership Process Video Tutorials

To apply for Recording Academy membership, you must first confirm that you meet the voting or professional membership qualifications, and receive a recommendation from two music industry peers. If you have any questions about Recording Academy membership or the application process, visit our Membership FAQ or contact membership@recordingacademy.com.

Completing a Recommendation

Both members and non-members of the Recording Academy can make recommendations for membership candidates. Non-members of the Academy should be able to verify a primary career in the recording industry.

If you’re a current member and would like to recommend a candidate, visit your dashboard here.

If you’re not currently a member, but actively working in music, click here to recommend a candidate.
